Job title: Full time Nanny/Housekeeper
Location: Knutsford
Hours: 40 hours per week
Job spec: A welcoming family based in Knutsford, currently a family of three and soon to be four, are looking for an organised, proactive and professional Nanny/Housekeeper to join them from summer 2026. The family have a happy and energetic 3.5-year-old child, with a new baby due in September 2026.This is a varied and flexible role that combines childcare and light household support. Until the arrival of the family's new baby, there will naturally be a greater emphasis on helping with household tasks while Mum prepares for life with a new born. Once the baby arrives, the role will transition to become predominantly childcare-focused, supporting both children and becoming an integral part of the family's daily routine.
The family is keen to find the right person above all else and is happy to shape the role around the successful candidate's strengths and availability. While the position is advertised over five days, four days could also be considered for the right person.
Household responsibilities will include helping to keep the home running smoothly through daily resets, family laundry, preparing simple family meals, keeping the kitchen and living areas tidy, changing bed linen, grocery shopping, and other light housekeeping duties. These tasks are intended to support the family and will always take second priority to the children's needs.
The family's eldest child currently attends nursery each day, so childcare will mainly involve support before and after nursery, along with occasional daytime care when required. Once the new baby arrives, the successful candidate will play a much more hands-on role, providing nurturing care for both children, supporting Mum during the newborn stage, planning age-appropriate activities, accompanying outings, and helping to establish a calm and happy family routine.
The family also has a very friendly seven-year-old dog, Pablo. While he is usually walked by the family and often accompanies them to work, there may occasionally be opportunities to provide company for him or take him for a short walk. Candidates who would be happy to care for Pablo while the family is away would be an added bonus, although this is by no means essential.
The family enjoys working collaboratively and plans to use a monthly calendar and weekly priorities to ensure everyone is on the same page. They are looking for someone who is adaptable, proactive and enjoys becoming part of a family. Friday evening support may occasionally be appreciated, but this will not be a regular requirement and can be discussed with the successful candidate.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced nanny looking for a long-term position with a warm, welcoming family who truly values finding the right person. The role offers plenty of flexibility and the chance to grow alongside the family as their needs evolve.
