A before and after school nanny would be employed by the family and would have childcare experience and often a childcare qualification.  Their role is usually to get the children ready for school, provide their breakfast and take them to school. 

 

In the afternoon, the Nanny would collect them from school, oversee any homework, prepare a meal and keep them entertained until you arrive home from work. If you require extra hours during the day, this is something that could be arranged on an individual basis. In this situation, the Nanny would do some housekeeping during school hours to reduce the parents workload.
